Role: Work in a team with copywriters to support and develop inspiring visual communications materials to win the first pitch for Korean market as an art director.
Issue
It was the first pitch for Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo to expand their Nike business for not only Japanese market but also the Korean market.
Challenge
Research into the Korean market.
Research into availability of right collaborative productions.
Deep research into creatives that sympathize with the Korean audience and Nike Korea client.
Solution
At that time, there was a youth track and field tournament, so we proposed messages and strategies to appeal to Korean teenager.
Prepare individual books at the beginning of the pitch to convey our understanding and passion to our spirits and the Korean market and Korean youth.
First challenge to Korea market for W+K tokyo office and I joined from the pitch and eventually won.
Walked through whole process while remotely working with local korean production as well as W+K HQ in Portland.
