Fun for the good.

Born in Korea, educated in Tokyo, Japan. Studied graphic design for two years before moving to the UK, where I worked with Alexander McQueen, Google, and Wieden + Kennedy. Graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London with a BA in Design in 2015. Began my career at Cheil Worldwide, leading US and Europe campaigns for Samsung Electronics.

Currently, as Senior Art Director at Minna Bank (みんなの銀行), I lead creative direction and brand communication across TV, digital, and social media. My work focuses on combining emotional engagement with user-centered design to strengthen brand presence in Japan’s competitive financial market. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, I deliver campaigns that balance creative innovation with business goals.

  • Key role in expanding and developing comprehensive brand guidelines.

  • Actively communicated brand content across various social media platforms.

  • Led art direction and collaborated with stakeholders in TV commercial production.

  • Collaborated with the Biz Group on implementing impactful marketing campaigns.

  • Responsible from the formulation of UI UX and branding of the product to marketing on behalf of the Creative Director role.

Lead UI Designer; International Business Unit, Trip.com Group, Tokyo

  • Responsible for brand creative and content for JP Trip.com and lead a team of JP creative team.

  • Helped develop JP Trip.com's master brand strategy, story, optimize customer journey based on datas and positioning in the market while taking in charge of multiple role; marketing design, marketing research, Branding and lastly UI, UX design.

  • Drive customer-obsessed content for all stages of the journey - online and offline, acquisition and engagement.

Art Director, BX, UX, Vx; Amazon Device team,  Amazon Japan, Tokyo

  • Worked within Amazon device team, as a visual designer and art director, cross functionally across marketing team and Alexa team etc, created brand voice and content strategy for Amazon Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Kindle. 

  • Collaborate directly with internal marketing and product clients to drive demand and desire with agencies and productions to supervise with creative brief after in-house coordination for devices’ positioning in Japan as an art director.

  • As an in-house UX designer, responsible for the design work of highly confidential internal UI, UX, and style guideline creation.(explanation is omitted for NDA)

  • Lead a team of Amazon China’s Design production team and supported Amazon AU marketing team.

Art Director; Global Creative Division 1, Cheil Worldwide HQ; Samsung Electronics, Seoul

  • Concept and work on global Ads for Samsung’s devices, as an Art Director paired up with copywriter to generate creative strategy and marketing concept for Samsung global marketing team.

  • Oversee concept and pitch development, video storyboarding, and global launch collateral. Partner with Executive Producer to bid global directors, source productions, and review treatments. Present to executive leadership including Samsung’s SVPs.

22 JUL 2014 - 29 SEP 2014 (Full time-intern)

UI Designer; Brand Studio, Google Japan, Tokyo 

  • Established style guides for the purpose of enhancing operational efficiency within the team based on Google's design guidelines (2014: Material Design) as a part of the APAC Brand Studio

  • Responsible for joint cooperation between local Google offices and agencies, managing the production of campaigns that considered mobile and infrastructure environments in each region in Asia such as India and Philippine.

Art Director ; Creative Division, Wieden+Kennedy, Tokyo

  • Teamed up with a copywriter to create advertising for Nike and Ben&Jerry's. In 2014, W+K Tokyo decided to begin its first abroad business expansion challenge and invite Nike Korea as a client; participated in a pitch.

  • Designed a condensed concept and manifesto book for the Korean market in the pitch was my duties.

    - Nike Korea Pitch (Won the pitch and W+K Tokyo has them as a client continue until this year.)
    - Ben&Jerry’s (Created digital contents on social media. The result had led to an uplift in the number of retail units by 5.)

18 SEP 2013 - 10 MAR 2014 (Contract)

Creative Designer; Creative Division, ultrasupernew K.K., Tokyo

  • Co-directed overall design work such as TVC, OOH, retail with Creative Director for Redbull and Heineken (Digital video contents to package design.) for Red Bull Japan In-house agency.

Print & Textile designer; Print & Textile Division, Alexander McQueen, London 

  • Designed the textiles for two collections in 2014, Under the direction of head designer ‘Sarah Burton’.

  • Designed textiles for the men's and women's S/S 14 Haute Couture collections in Paris with two designers.

  • Responsible for the textile design of the women's ready-to-wear S/S 14 collection in Paris.

  • Besides that, designed textiles for retail scarves and accessories, re-interpreting the brand's iconic skull prints with the motifs of flowers and butterflies were the theme of the year.
